Well, that is not entirely true MORAK, ATI has it once you've passed mid price range. For the budget cards, nvidia is still in the game, not just performance wise, but power consumption wise.
Just for an example, I'm running a quad AMD Athlon X4 630 CPU on Asrock MBO with 2 Gigs of DDR2 and a Nvidia GTX260, one hard drive and one optical on a 350W power supply and it all runs perfectly. The new GTX260 suckles about as much juice as my ancient 7900GS. More juice would be nice, but it's doable
