The community is growing now that the Game is actually good. I dont think it would be hard for the GIAP to pick a fight.

since it will be compatible with both FC2.0 and Black Shark, think it won't be much of a problem to find someone to clash against.

some salivation over damage model:

http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=56783&page=1

EDIT: looks like it won't be compatible with FC2, with DCS:BS only after patch. hm.

Jesus... how the hell does one remember what all the buttons and switches do? :).

It's hard enough on the ground, but in flight? You gotta be kidding me :D

I hadn't seen this before and I am drooling as well.

That wasn't the way we did things in the A model but very similar and the differences make sense with the newer technologies available when they rebuilt the beasts to the C standard. No IFCCCCCCC switch on the A and an engine start was never so simple. On the A, you literally engaged a starter which was an air turbine running off pneumatics from the APU which turned the PTO (power take off) shaft that turned the core spool. At a certain RPM you moved the throttle to idle which started ignition and fuel flow and, hopefully, a nice smooth light off. Just lifting the throttle over the hump is too easy but totally in line with current technology. The big deal in my day was a mod that automatically disengaged the starter at the correct RPM. Previously, we burned up a TON of starters cause meatheads like me would leave them on after start and the engine overwhelmed them after it got going.

DRAGO, every light and switch has a purpose and the pilot has a need to know what it does. We used to play stump the dummy asking each other what different lights meant, what the red, amber and green values were on the guages and so forth. If it's what you do for a living, you just work on it until you know it. Otherwise they never give you the keys! (no, they don't actually have keys its just a , well, never mind...)

Is anybody else tempted after seeing this video to visit an air national guard squadron in the dead of night? It'd be a much cooler joyride than those inner-city kids get.
